The #1 Rule on borrowing tools:
YOU BREAK IT, YOU REPLACE IT!
Accidents happen, make sure that you can afford
to fix anything you borrow. Treat loaned tools "BETTER
THAN YOUR OWN!" Make sure to contact the lender
as soon as an incident occurs so they can modify their tool
availability, and possibly give you instructions on getting
the tool fixed. In summation: "YOU
BREAK IT, YOU REPLACE IT!"
The Borrowing process:
| 1. |
Do a search by zip for tools
available. If the tool is not available in your immediate
zipcode, you have the abililty to search by city, county
and state. |
| 2. |
Pick a lender to see all the items that
user is offering, and which dates are available for lending. |
| 3. |
Select the dates you would
like to borrow an item. A loan represents 24 hours, so
picking up on Monday, and dropping off on Tuesday = 1
day renting. |
| 4. |
Once you click "Rent
Tools" on the checkout page, those tools are reserved
for you to pickup, and are no longer available for rent
by the lender. Please make sure you understand the lenders
renting practices. |
| 5. |
The lender will contact you with pickup
information. You must bring a valid driver's license.
Dropoff is certainly possible as well. |
| 6. |
When picking up tools:
- Offer your drivers license, don't
make the lender ask.
- Ask about the tools, find out any
restrictions, or best practices.
|
| 7. |
Shake Hands! |
| 8. |
Before returning tools, make sure they
are cleaned. Leaving things better than you found them
is a great way to insure future availability of tools,
and a great way to earn positive feedback from lenders.
After you return the tools, give some feedback on the
experience at your "My Toollender" administration
page. |
Good Luck on your Projects!
