  LENDING TOOLS

The #1 Rule in Lending tools:

MAKE SURE YOUR TOOL IS IN WORKING ORDER!

Before renting, and after each loan, test your tool to make sure it is in good working condition.

The Listing process:

1. Go to the "My Toolbox" admin page. Click "Add a Tool".
2.

Adding a Tool to your rental list:

  1. Fill out a short form labeling your item for rent.
  2. Choose a daily rate(required) and for the tool
  3. Write a description of the tool you are renting(Brand Name, Age, other useful info you think relevant) You should also let borrowers know your requirements for lending(Voucher Rating, TL Verified, Deposit Required) HTML allowed.
  4. Select Dates when you would like to keep the item for yourself.
  5. Finalize Tool entry by clicking "Rent This Tool"
3. You can modify your listings anytime by visiting your "My Toolbox" admin page.
4. Important Note: You may only rent your tools 2 months in advance. If you fail to modify your tool availability, it will default to available.

The Lending process:

1. When a borrower rents your tools, an email will be sent notifying you of the transaction.
2. Contact the borrower using the informaiton provided in the email. Schedule a good time for pickup when you can meet the borrower.
3. When the borrower arrives, make sure to check their driver's license. Lending has some risks, use good judgement in your rental practices.
4. Inform the borrower of any best practices in using your equipment. A personal touch helps insure good useage of the tool. Make sure dropoff times are agreed upon and understood.
5.
Shake Hands!
6.
Upon dropoff, inspect the tool for any damage before borrower leaves. Go to your "My Toolbox " admin page and leave feedback. Feedback is a good way to let other lenders trust(or be wary) of borrowers.(Feedback is Under Construction)

I found this Lending Rules List from Berkeley's Tool Lending Library... Some of this may be helpful.
